Eid 2013 Greetings

Churches wish Eid Mubarak to British Muslims
Representatives of several of the UK’s largest Christian denominations symbolically delivered Eid greetings (marking the end of the Muslim month of Ramadan) to the entire British Muslim community.
A first of its kind, the handover of the printed and framed “Eid Mubarak” message took place at the London Muslim Centre in Whitechapel, east London. It was witnessed by the director of the adjacent East London Mosque, Dilowar Khan and was organised by the Christian Muslim Forum (the UK’s largest network of Christians and Muslims), whose patron is the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Eid greeting from the Archbishop
To Muslim friends and colleagues on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr 2013/1434
Eid Mubarak! For the first time as Archbishop of Canterbury I wish you warm greetings on this joyful occasion. It has been a privilege over these first few months to get to know more Muslim colleagues, and to see and hear more of the strong network of friendships between our communities.
Eid Message from Pope Francis
To Muslims throughout the World
It gives me great pleasure to greet you as you celebrate ‘Id al-Fitr’, so concluding the month of Ramadan, dedicated mainly to fasting, prayer and almsgiving.
It is a tradition by now that, on this occasion, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue sends you a message of good wishes, together with a proposed theme for common reflection. This year, the first of my Pontificate, I have decided to sign this traditional message myself and to send it to you, dear friends, as an expression of esteem and friendship for all Muslims, especially those who are religious leaders.
